Cargills supermarket chain to accept payment for SriLankan online bookings
ECONOMYNEXT – Cargills Food City supermarkets and Cargills Bank branches will accept payment for Sri Lankan airlines tickets booked online.
SriLankan has a ‘book now pay later’ option for traverllers who do not have credit cards.
Customers can now pay at around 370 outlets of Cargills Food City and Cargills Bank branches.
Rajendra Theagarajah, Managing Director/CEO of Cargills Bank Limited said the partnership would expand financial inclusion.
“The Book Now Pay Later facility has already facilitated SriLankan Airlines’ customers all over Sri Lanka and also in the UAE with unprecedented convenience and the ability to obtain online promotions and discounts," SriLankan Chief Executive Vipula Gunatilleka said.
"This tie-up will allow SriLankan Airlines to further enhance this service with the enabling of payments under the solution with Cargills Bank."
Travellers can book a ticket up to 72 hours before a flight from Colombo or the UAE and choose pay later. The system will hold the ticket for up to 48 hours. (Colombo/Feb20/2019-SB)
