ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s loss-making state-run Sri Lanka Transport Board has awarded a 1,115 million rupee deal to CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt.) Ltd, the state information office said.
CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt) Ltd is a Sri Lanka India joint venture involving India’s CEAT and Sri Lanka’s Kelani Tyres.
The cabinet of minister had approved proposal submitted by Transport Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva to buy 33,673 sets of tyres from CEAT Kelani International Tyres (Pvt) Ltd for the SLTB.
The Sri Lanka Transport Board kept afloat with taxes collected from the people. (Colombo/Sept17/2017)
