Colombo Dockyard to get US$180mn Sri Lanka patrol vessel deal

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s cabinet of minister had given nod for a 180 million US dollar order for coast guard vessels from Colombo Dockyard Plc, Minister Rajitha Senaratne said.
Colombo Dockyard will build three 85 metre off-shore patrol vessels for the coast guard.
The OPV will be based on a hull design by VARD Marine of Canada.
They will be capable of deep and shallow water operations.
Colombo Dockyard is a publicly traded company in Sri Lanka, majority controllled by Onomichi of Japan. (Colombo/Mar01/2017)
