Dengue threat on the rise
With the onset of the southwest monsoon, the threat of a dengue pandemic is on the rise again, the Health Promotion Bureau warned today.
A National Dengue Prevention Week, organised by the Bureau, is set to commence 8 May to educate the public on what to expect.
Part of the objective of the campaign is to convince people to clear out potential dengue mosquito breeding sites, the Health Promotion Bureau said in a statement.
Some 51,659 dengue cases of dengue were reported in the country last year, with 15,641 cases reported thus far in 2019, according to the Epidemiology unit of the Ministry of Health.
