Dialog Broadband launches software defined WAN for companies in Sri Lanka
ECONOMYNEXT – Dialog Broadband Networks (Pvt) Ltd, a unit of Dialog Axiata has launched software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) service to connect companies and branch networks.
Firms that use SD-WAN does not require fixed circuits to connect offices in different locations, but uses software to allocate bandwidth and facilities as required by priority using internet and cloud technology.
The FlexNet branded service simplifies administration and management of traffic amongst branch networks or multiple locations, with the technology giving businesses the flexibility to free up internal private networks for mission critical traffic, the firm said.
“The grow-as-you-go business model introduces a new approach to network infrastructure investment in an ever changing and connected world,” Dialog Broadband said in a statement.
“Furthermore, upgrading a business network to FlexNet allows changes to be made at any time, giving IT Managers the flexibility to continuously monitor, manage and optimise their networks to ensure the best performance for their investment.”
Dialog said the service provides security through encryption, improved performance by traffic prioritization, reduced maintenance due to software based control and flexibility to expand by adding braches or bandwidth.
