Dilhara Lokuhettige charged by ICC
Former Sri Lankan cricket player Dihara Lokuhettige is being charged for corruption by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
These charges are being made in addition to the charges imposed on him behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) last year (2018).
According to ICC Lokuhettige was charged for breach of articles 2.1.1, 2.1.4 and 2.4.4. which refers to match fixing,soliciting and failure to disclose in the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
Lokuhettige has 14 days from 3 April 2019 to respond to the new charges. The ICC will not make any further comment in respect of these charges at this stage.
He was charged in a similar offence last November in relation to the T10 league in 2017 under ECB’s code.He was suspended by ICC which had been appointed by the ECB as its Designated Anti-Corruption Official.
