Sri Lanka Cricket captain Dimuth Karunaratne slides into the Top 10 of the ICC Test Batsmen rankings after a period of absence of Sri Lankan batsmen in that ranking segment.
Following his well hit 122 off 243 balls, Karunaratne managed to land himself the 8th Spot on the list published by the International Cricket Council.
Dimuth managed to break into the top 10 after being just shy on 13 while another notable mention is former captain Angelo Mathews, ascending from the 17th to the 14th Spot, looking to break into the top 10 as well during the second test against New Zealand.
Sri Lanka is currently number-one in the inaugural ICC World Test Championship 2019-21, bagging a whopping 60 points following the first test against New Zealand, with Australia in Second and England in Third.
Sri Lanka will take on New Zealand for the second and final test in the series on Thursday (22 August) at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo.
