Easter Sunday victims commemorated in Washington

The Embassy of Sri Lanka together with the Washington National Cathedral organized an Interfaith Service of Prayer and Remembrance to commemorate the Easter Sunday terrorist attack victims.

The event saw the participation of more than 1000 people including religious dignitaries representing Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish and Christian faiths.

The US government representatives, Ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps as well as Sri Lankan community members were also present at the event.

The procession enters the Church

All religious representatives walked down the aisle carrying candles to honour the victims and blessed the gathering according to their religious rites.
