Sri Lanka faces grim reality of the dollar shortage-led fuel, power crisis

Sri Lanka is facing extended power cuts due to lack of fuel imports and drought.
The lack of fuel also has resulted in large queues for diesel and petrol despite record price hikes
"The fuel issue is being addressed now. We believe that in the coming days the over-consumption will end," he added.
Power demand up as price increase delayed
Sri Lanka is facing daily scheduled power outages as a result of an ongoing forex shortage.
"We also have one million metric tons of coal which is enough for the next four to five months."
