Export-Import Bank of India team visits Sri Lanka
ECONOMYNEXT – A team from the Export-Import Bank of India had visited Sri Lanka and met Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.
The team had also met officials from Sri Lanka railways, the Department of External Resource and the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs.
India had provided over 800 million dollars through a credit line to upgrade and rebuilt rail track running to the North and the North East of the island, sharply cutting travel time.
The team had inspected the work, which was carried out by IRCON, an Indian state-run railway engineering company.
