Flights to Sri Lanka’s Katunanayake diverted over bad weather

ECONOMYNEXT- Two flights to Sri Lanka’s Bandaranaike International Airport was diverted to another airport due to sudden bad weather.

Sri Lankan Airlines UL-226 a flight from Riyadh to Colombo and UL-230 from Kuwait to Colombo were diverted to Mattala International Airport in the Island’s South.

Both aircraft returned to Katunayake later, an airport official said.

Before Mattala was built Sri Lanka used to divert aircraft to Indka. (Colombo/Oct21/2019)
