Fresh Sri Lanka bids for airport hotels
ECONOMYNEXT – The Sri Lankan government is calling for fresh bids to build two hotels near the Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake after investors awarded bids earlier failed to proceed with the projects, a spokesman said.
The proposal by Transport and Civil Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva had been approved by the Cabinet of ministers this week, Gayantha Karunathilaka, Minister of Land and Parliamentary Reforms told a news conference.
Fresh bids for a four-star hotel on state land had already been called and the Cabinet decided to call for fresh bids to chose an investor build a two-star hotel, he said.
