Gota and Mahinda betrayed soldiers on war crime by denying leading the war-Harshana
UNP Parliamentarian Harshana Rajakaruna says although the Rajapaksa brothers Gotabaya and Mahinda are ready to take the credit for the war victory, they betrayed the troops by refusing to take responsibility of the alleged war crimes saying that they did not lead the army during the war.
Speaking to the media this morning (16 Oct) in Colombo Rajakaruna said that Gotabaya Rajapaksa should have been able to speak with a backbone at the press conference held yesterday when foreign journalists questioned him about alleged war crimes.
Further, he said that as a leader he should have been able to speak about the positive and negative impacts that can happen during a war and should have been able to face them.
Rajakaruna also added that he was happy as the truth came out of Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s mouth finally agreeing that neither he nor his brother led the war but Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka who was the army commander at that time.
Further, he added that of Gotabaya Rajapaksa has dreams of becoming the president of the country one day he should be able to face the media alone without bringing his brother to press conferences.
