ECONOMYNEXT – US-based Honeywell UOP has won a deal in Sri Lanka to design upgrades to crude refinery operated by state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
Honeywell UOP will prepare engineering design for upgrading the crude distillation column, along with continuous catalytic reformer.
Sri Lanka has an old refinery which can process some types of crude.
Sri Lanka refines 50,000 barrels of crude daily and imports the balance distillates. (Colombo/Oct02/2019)
