House suspected to be used for training found in Kaththankudy
Two houses including one which is suspected to be where the Easter Sunday attackers trained was searched by the security forces in Kaththankudy yesterday (5).
Weapons, various chemicals, and explosives were seized from the premises, Police say.
According to the police, they were led to the house by Mohamed Abdul Rauf who is a suspect in custody.
Police added that Mohamed Cassim Mohammed Rilwan, the suspect who exploded himself in Saindamaruthu, Kalmunai, had lived in the house.
Police have found that this house belongs to a suspect involved in the murder of two policemen in Vavunathivu.
It had come to light that the water tank stand on the rooftop was used to observe the surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, security forces discovered 235 sharp knives during search operations in Deen Road, Kattankudy.
The weapons had been packed in two containers and thrown into a stream.
Police are conducting further investigation into the incidents.
