India did not nominate party for WCT, Sri Lanka says had direct talks with Adani

ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka had direct talks with Adani Ports group over giving a concession to build and operate Colombo Port’s West Container Terminal, after the government halted a plan to give the East Terminal co-cabinet Minister Udaya Gammanpila said.

India did not nominate a party to the West Container Terminal, when the government proposed it as an alternative to the East Container Terminal, Minister Gammanpila said.

India had disclaimed knowledge of having ‘approved’ an investment into West Container Terminal after a Sri Lanka government statement made a reference to India having given the nod for the change.
