Japanese envoy in Sri Lanka next week
Special Advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister Dr. Hiroto Izumi will be in Sri Lanka between 20 and 22 June.
Dr. Izumi is expected to meet Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe during his visit and discuss, among other things, the travel advisory issued by the Japanese government following the Easter attacks, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The travel advisory, issued by the Japanese Foreign Affairs Ministry had issued a travel advisory on 26 April, was raised Level 2, advising Japanese citizens to avoid non-essential and non-urgent travel to the Sri Lanka.
So far, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, China, India, UK, France, Belgium and the Netherlands have revised their travel advisories on Sri Lanka.
