Japan’s Taisei Corporation gets Sri Lanka expressway deal

ECONOMYNEXT – Japans’ Taisei Corporation has won the bid to build part of an expressway to central Sri Lanka for which a 100 billion yen has been arranged, Cabinet Spokesman, Gayantha Karunathilake said.

Taisei will build a 32.5 kilometre section of the Central Expressway, running from Pothuhera to Galagedera.

The cabinet of ministers had approved the award of the contract.

Japan’s Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank had already agreed to provide a loan of up to 100 billion yen for the project. (Colombo/Feb21/2018)
