Land, safe house used by Easter attackers discovered – Police
A 25-acre land in Valachchenai and a safe house in Nuwara Eliya allegedly used by the Easter Sunday terrorists were discovered by the security forces and the police on Monday (6).
According to Police Spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara, this land was recovered following an investigation by the CID after Valachchenai police had arrested the owner of the land on 23 April. The suspected was later handed over to the CID. The land was revealed to have been used by the terrorists for various activities, Gunasekara told the media yesterday.
Further, a guest house also reportedly used by the terrorists to engage in training sessions was discovered in Blackpool, Nuwara Eliya. The guest house was rented out by a lease agreement, the holder of which was arrested in Gampola.
A person with eight communication signal-jammers was also arrested in Negombo following a search operation conducted by the Negombo police.
