Laugfs Sri Lanka LPG tanker docks at China-run port in Hambantota

ECONOMYNEXT – Gas Courage, a Sri Lanka registered liquefied petroleum gas tanker owned by Colombo-based by LAUGFS Maritime Services (Pvt) Ltd, has docked at Hambantota, the port said.

Hambantota International Port is run by a joint venture between CM Ports of China and Sri Lanka Ports Authority.

The Sri Lanka flagged ‘Gas Courage’ which has a gross tonnage of 2998 t and a maximum draft of 5.5 metres is the first vessel to be registered to Hambantota.

Sri Lanka’s Laugfs group has an LPG terminal in an industrial area next to the port.

Gas Courage came with a shipment of 1,800 metric tonnes of LGP, the port said.

Hambantota port also saw the arrival of the first consignment of bunker fuel earlier in April. (Colombo/Apr11/2020)
