Mahinda on India visit will meet Modi on Saturday
ECONOMYNEXT – Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa left for a four-day official visit to India today and is due to hold bilateral talks with his counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi tomorrow.
He will begin a packed schedule tomorrow meeting India’s External Affairs Minister Subhramanyam Jaishankar before heading off to a ceremonial reception at the President’s Palace.
He will then lay a wreath at the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and then go to Hyderabad House the office of the Prime Minister to meet Modi.
The two prime ministers are due to issue a joint Press statement after their talks.
In the afternoon Prime Minister Rajapaksa will call on President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday the Prime Minister will visit temples in Varanasi, Bodh Gaya and Tirupati.
