ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s cabinet of ministers had cleared the release of land on a 30-year lease for a company called Fantasy Land Entertainment (Private) Limited to build a tourism resort with educational and recreational facilities, the state information office said.
A 42 acre, 01 rood and 1.5 perches from a land called Ratwatte, in Ukuwela, held by Land Reform Commission would be given to the little known company.
The LRC has land expropriated from the people violating their property rights, after self-determination from Biritsh rule.
Fantasy Land Entertainment (Private) Limited had Board of Investment approval.
The project will target local and foreign tourists. (Colombo/July27/2021)
