Police probing intimidation of Muslims in Katuwapitiya
Police have begun investigations into an incident where pig carcases were hung in front of Muslim-owned shops at the Deen Junction near Katuwapitiya in Negombo yesterday (21).
Negombo Police told RepublicNext that no one has been arrested relating to the incident so far.
Earlier the Muslims in the area had been allegedly warned by a gang not to open their shops on Sunday (21) as yesterday marked three months since the Easter attacks on churches and hotels by Islamic extremists.
More than a hundred people were killed at the Katuwapitiya St. Sebastian’s Church in the attack.
