President to replace year 5 scholarship with year 7 or 8 exam
President says the year 5 scholarship examination will be replaced la by an examination be held in Grade 07 or 08.
This will be done under the guidance of education specialists he told an audience at Subharathi Maha Vidyalaya in Godagama, yesterday (01st).
Further, he said that through this exams children are provided with a better education while implementing the necessary changes that should be done in our education sector according to the educational methods used by the most developed countries in the world.

Grade 5 scholarships have an issue related with the science of education, said president. These examinations were started with the intention of providing an opportunity for the children of poor families incapable of providing an education, to allow them to study in government schools. He also said that it now has become a milestone cforhildren to enter into popular schools.
The President then emphasized on the importance of ending the competition to ensure a good education for all children in the country under the changes that are taking place in the educational system to create a disciplined generation of children and that no country anywhere enlists thousands of students into one school.
He also said that the focus should be on providing good education and discipline by admitting a small number of students to a school and continue their education at the same school since childhood.
He further mentioned that the education system that creates graduates who carry placards calling for jobs must also be changed.
The awards were presented to the outstanding school children by the President.
