Relief for those owing traffic fines
ECONOMYNEXT- If you are worried about that unpaid traffic fine, the Sri Lanka Police together with the Postal Department have come up with a deal that will provide some relief.
This will apply to traffic fines issued after March 1, a press release from the Postal Department said.
Accordingly, a relief period will be given to avoid the payment of extra charges that would normally be levied after exceeding 14 days.
The fines will be payable after post offices and sub-post offices assume normal duty.
The Postal Department put on pause their normal services after all-island curfew was implemented on March 20.
Currently, all Post offices and sub-post offices are instructed by Postmaster General to open for 2 hours in areas where curfew is lifted to operational activities and delivery of essential consumer goods and medicines. (Colombo/Apr9/2020)
