Rohan Samarajiva to Chair new Sri Lanka ICT agency board
ECONOMYNEXT – Rohan Samarajiva, a former telecom regulator and head of LirneAsia, a regional policy research body has been appointed chairman of Sri Lanka’s ICT Agency, along with a new board.
The board is conducting a broad review of the organization, a statement aid.
"It is developing a plan to focus and consolidate the many ongoing projects and restore momentum to ICTA’s important role in working across multiple government departments, agencies and coordinating with private and civil-society stakeholders to ensure that digital initiatives contribute to efficient government, a dynamic economy and an inclusive society," the statement quoted Samarajiva as saying.
Smarajiva said the new Board will make the ICTA "a trusted partner to all who wish to leverage the exciting potential of ICTs for the betterment of our country."
