Royal Institute wins Sri Lanka CFA investment research race
ECONOMYNEXT – Royal Institute of Colombo has won a competition on investment research conducted by the Sri Lanka chapter of Chartered Financial Analysts and will take part in a regional event.
"The CFA Institute Research Challenge enables Sri Lankan university students to learn and develop best practices in equity research," CFA Sri Lanka Vice President Zaffar Jeevunjee said in a statement.
"The training and mentoring they receive during this competition, from CFA Charterholders, industry experts, as well as the senior management of the target company is an invaluable complement to their regular course work."
Chamath Muthukuda, Buddhika Peiris, Anojan Srikanth, Nishara Sangapalaarachchi and Ibrahim Hameem supported by lecturer Travis Gomez and mentored by Mifnaz Jawahar, CFA Sri Lanka said.
University of Colombo came second.
The University of Kelaniya, wo teams from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, American National College Sri Lanka (ANC) and Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APITT) also took part.
The winners will take part in a Asia Pacific contest in Bangkok Thailand.
