ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s Samurdhi Development Department signed a memorandum of understanding with the e-commerce platform daraz.lk, enabling Samurdhi entrepreneurs and businesses to sell directly through Daraz, a statement said.
Low income earning entrepreneurs can now reach a wider consumer base through this initiative, the statement said.
This will also promote purchasing local products among customers.
Daraz.lk plans to hold workshops which would enhance e-commerce knowledge and skills of these business to enter and retain their businesses in the world of e-commerce.
It was also said that this project reaffirms the Presidents and Prime Ministers vision on incorporating technology and private sector in emanating economic growth. (Colombo/Jan14/2020)
