Sri Lanka Airlines airport cargo unit staffer found with Coronavirus

ECONOMYNEXT – SriLankan Airlines said a staff working at the cargo operations division at international airport in Katunayake had tested positive for Coronavirus this morning and colleagues are being tested for Covid-19.

“The staff member in concern is a resident of the Gampaha district and is currently admitted to hospital and receiving necessary treatment,” the airline said in a statement.

“It is believed that he has contracted the virus from external sources.”

The airline said 50 co-workers have been tested for Coronavirus.

The state information service said 39 persons were confirmed on Monday taking the total to 1,346 Coronavirus cases since a large cluster was found linked to a factory in Minuwangoda.
