Sri Lanka awards Murban crude deal to BB Energy of Singapore

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation’s refinery in Sapugaskanda can only process a limited grade of crudes such as Iranian light and Murban.

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has awarded a contract to supply 8.4 million barrels of Murban grade crude to Singapore based B B Energy (Asia) Pte Ltd.

The cabinet of ministers had approved the contract which will be effective for the next eight months.

The contract will be effective from January 2020 to August 2020.

The award was made by the standing procurement committee for oil.

Sri Lanka’s Ceylon Petroleum Corporation can only process a limited grade of crudes such as Iranian light and Murban. (Colombo/Oct30/2019)
