ECONOMYNEXT – The cabinet of ministers had given the go ahead to publish a draft law to replace Sri Lanka’s Petroleum Resources Act of 2003, the state information office said.
The draft law has been cleared by Sri Lanka’s Attorney General.
Petroleum Minister Udaya Gammanpila has said that Sri Lanka is planning to expand refinery capacity through a build-operate-transfer project.
However at the moment such activities are a state monopoly. (Colombo/July22/2021)
