Sri Lanka commissions 3.3MW dendro power plant
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has commissioned a 3.3MW dendro power plant which has been connected to the national grid from May 30, Vidullanka Plc, a public traded company said.
The plant is expected to generate 22 GigaWatthours (millions of units) a year.
The plant is run by Vidul Biomass (Pvt) Ltd, a joint venture with Vidullanka and OC Energy Lanka (Pvt) ltd, a unit of Japan based Obayashi Corporation, a construction group.
The plant is based in Dehiattakandiya, Sri Lanka.
Vidullanka had earlier said the plant cost 1.4 billion rupees of which 450 million was equity. The 950 came from a syndicated loan, guaranteed by Vidullanka Plc. (Colombo/June03/2019)
