Sri Lanka commissions second India-built offshore patrol vessel
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has commissioned a second advanced off-shore patrol vessel built for the Navy by India’s Goa Shipyard Ltd at Colombo Port’s East Terminal on April 19.
The 2,500 tonne OPV is 105.7 metres long and 13.6 metres wide.
It carries a crew of 18 offers and can carry 100 men.
The Sindurala and her sister ship Sayurala can be used to patrol Sri Lanka’s exclusive economic zone.
