Sri Lanka construction firms seek Africa business in Addis Ababa

CONSTRUCTIVE: Sri Lanka’s envoy to Addis Ababa at Ethio-Con exhibition highlighting benefits of partnering with Sri Lanka firms

ECONOMYNEXT – Construction companies from Sri Lanka that took part in an international exhibition in Ethiopia had an opportunity to forge business links which can pave the way to enter the African market, the island’s embassy in Addis Ababa said.

International Construction Consortium (Pvt). Ltd, Saw Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., APS Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, that had participated in the Ethio-Con International Construction Exhibition had met counterparts in Ethiopia and Africa.

The international exhibition which attracted over 125 African construction companies was inaugurated by Eng.

Aisha Mohammed Mussa, Minister of Construction and Urban Development of Ethiopia had said there vast opportunities for foreign contractors in Ethiopia and Africa and there were incentives for foreign contractors in Ethiopia.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union Commission, Sumith Dassanayake addressing African companies had said Sri Lankan firms have a strong reputation in Asia and Europe and partnering with them would bring mutual benefits. (Colombo/Oct05/2019)
