Sri Lanka Coronavirus deaths reach 330, 18-month baby dies from Covid-19

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has reported seven new Coronavirus deaths with an 18-month old baby passing away, taking the total to 330, the state information office said.

Sri Lanka’s total confirmed Coronavirus cases reached 65,698, with 715 cases being confirmed on February 01, 2021, down from 826 cases a day earlier.

Deaths were reported from the Western province, the South and Central Provinces.

The 18 month old baby boy was from Colombo 02. He died on 01.02.2021 while at Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital. He had Covid pneumonia.

A a 67-year old female from Weligama had died on29.01.2021 while undergoing treatment at the Karapitiya teaching hospital. She had Covid pneumonia and Intracerebral hemorrhage.

An 82 year old female from Colombo 15had died on 31.01.2021 at home. She had Covid pneumonia, high blood pressure and a stroke.

A 73 year old female from Waththegama had died on 31.01.2021. She was diagnosed with Covid-19 transferred from National Hospital Kandy to the Base Hospital Theldeniya. She had Covid pneumonia, high blood pressure and acute diabetes.

An 80 year old female from Nittambuwa had died on 01.02.2021. She had been diagnosed with Covid-19 and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to the Base Hospital Pimbura. She had Covid pneumonia, anemia, diabetes, and a heart disease.

A 77 year old male from Gelioya had died on 01.02.2021. He was transferred from Teaching Hospital Peradeniya to the Base Hospital Theldeniya. He developed sepsis to Covid pneumonia and had acute diabetes, high blood pressure and a kidney disease.

A 32 year old male from Ragama had died on 02.02.2021. He was diagnosed with Covid 19 virus and transferred from a private hospital Ragama to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa and to the Teaching Hospital Karapitiya where he died on 02.02.2021. He had acute Covid pneumonia, high blood pressure and asthma.
