Sri Lanka Coronavirus deaths rise to 16 as 368 new Covid-19 cases confirmed
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Coronavirus related deaths rose to 16 on October 25, with a 70 – year patient in intensive care passing away, the state information office quoted the island’s health chief as saying.
The patient was admitted on October 23 to the National Hospital, and had a blood infection, and had passed away in the early hours of October 25.
“The person had died due to this condition,” the statement said.
People with diabetes, kidney or heart conditions are at increased risk of Coronavirus.
Sepsis, usually caused by bacteria is also observed in severely ill Covid-19 patients, according to the World Health Organization.
In the current outbreak where 4,398 out of a total of 7,873 cases had been found, three persons have died.
