Sri Lanka Coronavirus deaths top 500, total Covid-19 cases 85,000
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Coronavirus deaths had reached 502 on March 07, 2021 with five persons being confirmed death with Covid-19 linked causes, the state information office said, while total confirmed cases are over 85,000.
A 74-year old male from Pallekele had died while being treated at National Hospital in Kandy. He had Covid pneumonia and cerebral hemorrhage.
An 82-year old male from Nugegoda had died at IDH hospital on March 017, He was transferred from Teaching Hospital Colombo South. He had Covid pneumonia.
A 72-year old male from Barwardhanaoya had died on March 07 at General Hospital Badulla. He had Covid-19 and cancer.
A 77-year old female from Matara had died on 25.02.2021 on admission to Base Hospital Dambadeniya. She had Covid-19 and acute heart disease.
A 67-year old male from Kananthota had died at Karawanella hospital. He had Covid pneumonia.
The total deaths rose to 502.
Up to 1000 hours on March 07, 85,336 persons were confirmed with Coronavirus and 2370 were under treatment.
Another 337 were confirmed by late evening.
Sri Lanka has started vaccinating people in the Western province, which is a high risk area and had already vaccinated health workers and the police. (Colombo/Mar07/2021)
