ECONOMYNEXT – A Sri Lanka school team is facing Canada in the Online World School Debating Championships grand final on August 02 (today) from 1900hours.
Sri Lanka defeated Ireland in the semi-finals to reach the grand final.
Students from Royal College, Colombo International School, Ananda College and Ladies College are the in the team.
The team has been supported by a grouping called the Debaters Council of Sri Lanka.

The physical World Debating Championships had started in the late 1990s and is held in English as it originated in English speaking countries but it has been won several time later by countries where English is a second language.
This year it was planned to be held in Mexico before the Coronavirus crisis. (Colombo/Aug02/2020)
