Sri Lanka ends Coronavirus isolation in some Colombo divisions, Ratnapura areas isolated
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has ended Coronavirus isolation in several areas in the capital Colombo from Monday December 28, and designated smaller areas, Army Chief Shavendra Silva has said.
Coronavirus isolation would be lifted from 0500hours from Dam Street, Keselwatte and Maradana police divisions, the state information quoting General Silva said.
But Aluthkade West and Aluthkade East grama niladari areas in the Keselwatte police division are designated as new isolated areas from 0500 hours on December 28.
Isolation would also be lifted from Wekanda and Hunupitiya grama niladari area of the Slave Island police division, Mayura place in Wellawatte police division, Halgahawate and Kalipulla Watta in Borella division.
Isolation Laksanda Sewana Housing Scheme in Wellampitiya area would also be lifted.
In Ratnapura, the following areas were isolated from December 27.

Minnana GS divison
Wilegoda GS division
Yakudagoda GS division
Asgangula North GS Division
Boaththa GS division
Godakawela Divisional Secretariat
Rakwana Town GS division
Rakwana North GS division
Musimbula South GS Division
Kottala GS Division
Four new Coronavirus deaths were reported taking the total to 191.
On December 28, 668 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed, taking the total in the country to 41,054.
There were 8,162 active cases in hospital and treatment centres. (Colombo/Dec28/2020)
