Sri Lanka extends visas of all foreigners till May 12 over Coronavirus
ECONOMYNEXT – The validity of all visas issued to foreigners in Sri Lanka will stand as extended till May 14, under an order issued by the Controller of Immigration the state information office said.
Sri Lanka had earlier extended visas of all foreigners in the island till April 12 and said they could visit the immigration office on April 07 and April 08. Now they are being asked not to come.
Any foreigner who had handed over a passport for endorsement, who wishes to leave the island before May 14 should contact the following emails and send a scanned copy of the acknowledged receipt and air ticket to the following emails.

1) The validity period of all types of Visas will be extended till 12th May 2020.
2) The procedure to pay the relevant visa fee and to get the visa endorsed in the Passport will
be informed to you later. Hence, you are hereby informed to refrain from visiting the Visa
Division of the Department of lmmigration and Emigrationas mentioned in the previous
3) lf you intend to leave the island during the aforementioned period; your journey will be
facilitated by paying the relevant visa fee at the Airport without any penalty.
4′) The validity period of the Acknowledgements issued for the applications already submitted
to the Department of lmmigration and Emigration to obtain visas, will also be extended for
another period of 30 days; till 12th May 2020. lf you intend to leave the country during the
given period, a request to obtain vour passport along with a scanned copy of the
Acknowledsement and the flight ticket should be sent to the following email addresses.
