Sri Lanka Hirdramani group says 250 Coronavirus test at Kahathuduwa factory negative
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Hirdramani group said 250 Coronavirus tests conducted on colleagues of a confirmed staff member at a factory in Kahathuduwa, had been negative and the patient is receiving medical treatment.
“We are working in close collaboration with the Government and Public Health Authorities, to ensure that stringent measures are enforced at all of our facilities to contain and prevent any further transmission of the virus,” Hirdramani said.
“We wish to reiterate that the Hirdaramani Group continues to maintain firm adherence to all guidelines, protocols, and directives issued by the relevant Government and Public Health Authorities.”
The staff member who had attended a wedding in Divulapitiya is in a stable condition, the group said.
Several factories in Sri Lanka’s Katunyake Export Processing Zone as well as in areas like Nittambuwa had been infected.
Next Manufacturing and Chief Way have the more than two dozen infected workers, health officials have said. (Colombo/Oct21/2020)
