Sri Lanka John Keells unit gets land in logistics zone
ECONOMYNEXT – John Keells Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd., part of Sri Lanka’s John Keells Holdings group, will get two plots of land in a reclaimed part of the Muthurajawela marsh designated as a logistics zone.
The Cabinet of ministers this week approved a proposal by Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Patali Champika Ranawaka to lease the two blocks of land to John Keels Logistics for 30 years.
John Keells Logistics (Pvt.) Ltd. was the highest bidder when bids were called to lease out the two remaining land lots for logistic purposes.
The Muthurajawela area in Wattala has been identified as a part of the Logistics Zone being constructed under the Megapolis Plan of the Western Province.
Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation has reclaimed 400 acres of the marsh to be given for various projects.
