Sri Lanka launches Euro-4 fuel
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has launched Euro-4 standard fuel replacing 95-Octane petrol and Super Diesel, on July 02, 2018.
“As a government owned corporation it is imperative that CPC supports the Government of Sri Lanka in transforming the energy sector by adapting to greener initiatives,” Sri Lanka’s Petroleum Minister Arjuna Ranatunga said.
The Euro 4 fuel will improve the efficiency of vehicles and reduce carbon monoxide emissions, the CPC said in a statement.
Sri Lanka hiked prices of fuel in May amid higher global prices. There is no change with the move to Euro 4 fuel. (Colombo/July02/2018)
