Sri Lanka national consumer prices rise 5.0 pct y/y in Oct

COLOMBO, Nov 21 (Reuters) – Sri Lanka’s rate of inflation, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), rose 5.0 percent in October from a year earlier, edging up from the previous month’s 4.7 percent, the Department of Census and Statistics said on Monday.
   
The NCPI in October edged up 1.1 percent on a month-on-month basis, compared with a 0.2 percent rise in September.

The 12-month moving average inflation, for which data is available since December 2015, hit an all-time high of 4.0 percent in October, compared with 3.8 percent a month ago.
