Sri Lanka nationwide inflation eases to 4.1-pct in November
ECONOMYNEXT – Nationwide inflation in Sri Lanka in November 2016 eased to 4.1% from 5% the previous month, the Department of Census and Statistics said.
The National Consumer Price Index (NCPI) rose 1.7% to 116.6 index points in November 2016, an increase of 1.9 index points compared to October, a statement said.
“The reason for decrease in inflation was due to the comparatively higher price levels prevailed in November 2015,” it said.
The food group contributed 0.7% to inflation in November 2016 and non-food group 3.4%.
