ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s team participating in the Tokyo Olympics has been dressed in sarees and sarongs emblazoned in national flag colours representing unity, LOVI an apparel brand said.
“Like many kids, I loved watching the Olympic games on TV and dreamt of somehow representing Sri Lanka one day,” Chief Executive of LOVI Asanka de Mel, said in a statement.
“Even if not as an athlete, I’m thrilled to be part of the event by supporting these extraordinary players as well as the dedicated coaches and officials leading the effort.”
Stripes representing colours of the national flag as well as a the Japanese characters “スリランカ”, meaning Sri Lanka, in honour of the host country are in the suits, the firm said.
