ECONOMYNEXT- Sri Lanka’s cricket team made a solid start in the second One Day International (ODI) against Scotland ahead of the World Cup 2019 set to start next week.
Put in to bat first in Edingburgh, Sri Lanka were at 61/0 in 11 overs, with right handed Avishka Fernando on 28 and captain Dimuth Karunaratne on 18.
Karunaratne was dropped at slips in the 7th over at 13, while Fernando was dropped at mid-off at 22, both off the bowling of Brad Wheal.
Wheal was the most effective of Scotland’s attack, with an economy of 2.40 in 5 overs.
His fellow pacer Safyaan Sharif gave away 20 runs in 4 overs, while Alasdair Evans was expensive as well, giving away 15 in 2 overs, both being hit for a six each by Fernando.
The first ODI against Scotland in Edingburgh was abandoned due to rain.
