Sri Lanka plans to open airport for charters, commercial flights on December 26
ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka plans to allow charter and commercial flight from December 26, the island’s aviation regulator has said.
The regulator said it will send “appropriate directives to the travel industry” for the commercial and charter flight operations”.
Sri Lanka closed the airport for scheduled flights in March 2020, though SriLankan Airlines and Qatar has been operating passenger flights.
Several airlines also operate cargo flights.
SriLankan said it was increasing flights to Singapore and starting flights to Malaysia this month. (Colombo/Dec15/2020-sb)
