Sri Lanka police extends curfew around Kuliyapitiya

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka has imposed curfew in Kuliyapitiya, Bingiriya, Hettipola, Dummalasuriya, Rasnayakepura and Kobeigane areas to maintain peace, police said amid rising Sinhalese nationalism in the country.

Following Easter Sunday suicide bombings on Churches and hotels, Sinhalese nationalists have re-emerged and a damaging property of Muslims.

Nationalist activist have at times surrounded police stations for arresting those damaging private property.

Nationalists who advocated boycotts of Muslim businesses have also resumed their activities, especially on facebook and other media.
