Sri Lanka police to search schools on Sunday

ECONOMYNEXT – Authorities will search schools and their environs in Colombo Sunday ahead of re-opening of the next day, police said.

Police spokesman Nuwan Gunasekera said advance notice was being given so that the public will be aware of search operations.

Security arrangements are being made at every school, in consultation with staff for the tem to begin on Monday, he said.

The public has been asked not to park cars close to schools.

Designated parking areas would be provided for vehicles transporting children.
